Hironori Tateishi is a deputy director in the Industrial Revitalization Division of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). He has a bachelor’s degree in law from Tokyo University and a master’s degree in law from Columbia Law School. He has worked for METI since 2005 and been in charge of Japan’s economic growth, mainly by amending several laws to encourage business activities. Most recently, he wrote the draft for amendment bill of the “Law on Special Measures for Industrial Revitalization and Innovation” to promote activities of Japanese corporation restructuring to acquire competitiveness in global market. His current research focuses on comparative analysis on nuclear power policy in Japan and the U.S. learning from Fukushima. His research seeks to establish safe and effective nuclear power management in each country.
